The Solar Technician trade is a specialized vocational program designed to train students in the installation, operation, and maintenance of solar power systems. In this course, students learn about different types of solar panels, inverters, batteries, and other system components, along with basic electrical concepts related to solar energy.
The training also focuses on practical skills such as site assessment, mounting of solar panels, system wiring, testing, and troubleshooting of common faults. Students are taught safety procedures, system performance monitoring, and routine maintenance to ensure efficient and reliable operation of solar installations in both residential and commercial applications.
Under the Government of India’s “Solar Mission”, the demand for skilled solar technicians is growing rapidly across the country. After completing this course, students can find employment with solar power companies, EPC contractors, and renewable energy firms, or work as independent solar installation and maintenance technicians, contributing to India’s clean and sustainable energy goals.
